Qualcomm announces more details of X60 baseband: download speed up to 7.5Gbps

In the early morning of February 26, Qualcomm held a press conference in the United States, officially showing the media the Qualcomm Snapdragon X60 5G baseband released a few days ago. As Qualcomm’s third-generation 5G baseband product, the Qualcomm Snapdragon X60 baseband is quite powerful in terms of performance. It is reported that products equipped with the Snapdragon X60 baseband will be launched early next year.

Qualcomm Snapdragon X60 adopts 5nm process, which is also the world’s first baseband chip with 5nm process. At the press conference, Qualcomm disclosed the speed performance of this baseband. The download speed of up to 7.5Gbps and the uplink speed of up to 3Gbps are faster than the Qualcomm Snapdragon X55 baseband.

Although the Qualcomm Snapdragon X60 has not improved much in terms of speed, its appearance can be said to have accelerated the global deployment of 5G networks. The Qualcomm Snapdragon X60 baseband supports 5G TDD and FDD carrier aggregation and dynamic spectrum sharing, which also accelerates the evolution of global operators towards 5G independent networking.

Of course, we still have to wait another year to see the Snapdragon X60 baseband. Perhaps this baseband will also be unveiled with next year’s flagship chip, the Snapdragon 875.
